Chicas Poderosas Bolivia, a group that was launched in 2015 with a hackathon and a social media workshop in La Paz will lead a three day workshop focused on effective storytelling for podcasts starting this Friday October 26th.
Led by Selma Saravia, Media Specialist at the US Embassy in La Paz, the workshop “La narración, en el corazón del podcast” (Narration, the Heart of the Podcast) will attract around 60 journalists, most of them female, from all over the country.
The event comes after the first podcast training in the country last year and will end with the announcement of the winners of the “First Bolivian Podcast Contest” with around 20 participants and a wide range of subjects, from indigenous traditions, to bird trafficking, Bolivian female truck drivers or a profile of a famous Bolivian soccer player who is now in his sixties.
The workshop will be co-lead by international journalists Teresa Bouza and Ruxandra Guidi. It also includes the participation of two online trainers: Laura Rojas, Program and Growth Coordinator for Radio Ambulante and Radio Ambulante’s editor Silvia Viñas.
