#IAMCHICASPODEROSAS I am more than what you see is the moto of this April’s Chicas Poderosas event in Miami. Since November last year a groups of Kopenhaver fellows have been putting together their event, planned to have all the good stuff students need and want to learn before jumping into the real world of journalism, media and technology. The agenda is packed with goodies ranging from workshops on virtual reality, podcasts, as well as how to negotiate your salary, or how to present your work and yourself to the professional world with digital portfolios and social media workshops. Day #1 at Fusion Studios, Doral

The first day will be hosted at Fusion Studios, and the second day at MBUS, the FIU studio at Miami Beach where we will have two full days of insights: -Salary negotiations, impostor syndrome, work-life balance -Covering minorities and community journalism -Visual Storytelling -Virtual Reality -Snapchat storytelling -Creating a digital portfolio -Podcasts And the third day will be a hands-on mediathon at The Lab Miami. Let’s tell Miami stories together. We will have an introduction on income inequality and gentrification in Miami. Later, participants will have a few hours to produce stories in Wynwood around that topic. Presentations will be at the end of the day, and we’ll close it off with a PARTYYY at Little Farm House a hidden secret in Miami! Space is limited, so sign up here for each day:
